Sterile Processing Technician
The Sterile processing technician program teaches students to carry out a number of the most critical safety tasks in the healthcare sector. Students learn vital infection control techniques to keep hospitals, medical facilities, as well as surgical instruments, safe and free from the spread of diseases. Sterile processing training will also provide you with a background in microbiology.
In addition, training includes a clinical practicum to help students get networking opportunities and actual experience in the field.
Upon completion of this program, students will have the following skills:
Wrap surgical trays
String instruments
Identify Surgical Instruments by service
Pick cases
Break down case cart
Use a washer-disinfector
Load trays into autoclave
Incubate and record Biological Indicator
